Pursuit DC 295 or DC 325/6

I just joined! I'm not new to boating but this would be my first owned boat. I've been offshore fishing since I was a kid and my late father-in-law owned a 53' Post down in Cabo.

Anyway, I am planning on getting a small dual console (DC) 29'-32' and keep it in the water in San Diego. I've decided on a DC due to weather given my family will be fishing with me. I'm not hardcore thus the boat will be used for runs to Catalina as well as some bay cruising.

I really like the lines (and pedigree) of the Pursuit 295 and 325/6 but have yet to get out in one. Does any one own either model that would allow me to take a look and/or answer questions? What's the good, bad, and ugly?!!

I’m a new owner of a 295DC, I’ve only had it a short time but I’m impressed with the overall quality of the boat and the fit and finish. I cam out of a 336 Grady 2013 and it rode better without a doubt. The 295DC is a big 29 with an overall length of 31”10” and runs well with twin 300 Yamaha. I can easily get 1.5 to 1.6MPG cruising around 30 MPH which is a big improvement over my 33 Grady that was closer to 1.1 overall. I can’t comment on the 325DC but I would imagine that at over 11,000 lbs and a foot wider beam, its probably exponentially different from my 295DC. If you are looking for a rating . The Pursuit engineering is probably 20% or more better than the Grady, the ride is 20% poorer than the Grady, Resale is probably a wash. You can’t go wrong with a 295DC or a 325DC in my opinion. The 325 is just more of a good thing and will probably cost you $70K more with the same power. I like my boat a lot. Very high quality and I don’t think you could go worn with either model.

I took possession of a new to me 2016 DC 325 in June. One season just about over and have to say the boat is very impressive. I came out of a Formula 34pc and will say that I feel that fit and finish of Formula to be a bit better but getting away from the I/O system has been great so far. I have noticed some what I would consider manufacturing shortcomings that I never saw with my Formulas. Most notably rattling is rougher water. The bow doors are very shaky and make a lot of noise as did the helm. The helm was adjusted with padding and I am still trying to find fix for the bow doors. Ride is great in calmer water but big wakes etc require slowing down vs the pc. I understand the boats are different but would be nice if it took the bigger waves better. Cabin is really storage and am trying to figure that out. Head is fine; could use additional height so that at 5'10" I wouldn't have to hunch over (knew about this at purchase). The DC 365 probably solves these challenges but at a much higher price point. One last thing is shade. My boat did not come with retractable aft shade so I had something made which is great and next season will address bow, which does need something if you that's your hangout spot (which it has become). All in all I feel these are little things and do appreciate all the boat offers, ease, great ride and comfortable to be on.
