Engine mounts worked!!!

Postby Woodworker2001 » Tue Apr 19, 2022 7:59 am

Well splashed her Saturday and took her for a ride. Transmissions are done and engine mounts seemed to work great. Amazing difference. Smooth quiet and even a little faster. Just two of us 25.4 mph 3200 and 27.3 mph @ 3400. You don’t even know when you put it in great other than she starts moving.

Engine mounts seem to be perfect. Allowed me to get the shafts centered in the logs and aligned. So far super happy with the decision all though it was a ton of work. Even got the hull buffed and waxed.

Nice work, and quick turn around. What is that steel bracket that is on top of the motor mount?

Did you swap out those transmissions in the boat, or did you pull the engines out?

That is the fuel water separating filter bracket. Other side has the cool fuel pump mounted there

Did them in the boat going to do a write up on it here when I finally have time.

Took me from beginning of December to now for all my research… fitting donor tranny to make sure it worked and everything. But very fortunate to have access to a machine shop and make the engine mounts in a week.
