'91 2100 CC- Below Deck Well Connections

Postby OL'PAL » Thu Sep 01, 2022 2:14 pm

I just picked up my first Pursuit two weeks ago. Overall it's in great shape, but like most boats that have been through several owners, there's a few things to sort out.

One item I'd like to sort out is the stock/factory below deck live well/bait well. I'm referring to the one that's ahead of the motor well and behind the leaning post (see pic). It doesn't seem to be plumbed. I'm assuming it was originally plumbed like a normal live well with one of the (2) holes being the incoming from the pump and the other a self-draining set-up with an overflow tube.

My questions are,

1. Which hole is the inlet and which is the drain?
2. How do I access the inlet side? I expected to find a 90 deg. elbow with a barbed end that would go to the live well pump.
3. Where does the water discharge to? I drained a little standing water out of it and I got nothing outside the boat.

Thanks in advance,
Marty

I have a Pursuit 2100 that is new to me. I am curious the answers to your questions. I know if I pull the plug when boat is in the water, it will fill up this live well. Theoretically, it should only fill to the waterline, which should be below the cover. But how do you empty it (I keep it in the water for season)?

I have this on my '91 2350 CC. There is (should be) a scoop thru-hull connection glassed into the hull with the top of that thru hull being the two fittings you see in the picture. On my 2350 the livewell bottom butts up to the top of the keel so I beleive the scoop and fittings to be one piece of Bronze. The forward fitting is the inlet, and the rear is the drain for the livewell.

Both connections in the bottom of the livewell of my 2350 are standard 3/4" garden hose style female fittings. From the factory, the forward standpipe I have is PVC, has a PVC ball valve and has holes drilled in the pipe above the ball valve, capped off at the top; its height stops just under the fishbox hatch. The drain standpipe is also a 3/4" fitting w/ PVC pipe with a male fitting (so it can be unscrewed to empty the livewell), the height of the standpipe stops just under the livewell hatch.
