Galvanic Isolator

Postby ropes » Mon May 30, 2011 1:32 pm

I have my 3000 Express in a marina 12 months a year and according to others in the marina it is very hot with lots of stray current.I am hooked up to shore power whenever I am there. Would it be a good idea to install a galvanic isolator. Do they work and how easy are they to install. Thanks Chris.

Galvanic Isolator

Postby captmark » Tue May 31, 2011 3:37 pm

Hey Ropes I have a 3000 Offshore and we have from what it sounds like the same issue in my marina. I do have the isolater, I dont know who installed it but we also have a Zinc saver.
I think they work since boats all up and down the dock have issues and I have had nothing.

Galvanic Isolator

I am sorry I never returned a response. I totally forgot I made the post. I redid all of the bonding connections and replaced the stern zincs with 6x12 inch plates. One of the bonding wires was loose. The marina is very hot!! I want to check the galvanic isolator but have no idea where it is?
