new boat coming

Postby pmiller533 » Tue Feb 21, 2012 11:24 am

I have just orderd a new DC 265 from Bosun's Marine on Cape Cod. It should arrive in mid May in time for the start of boating season. It's my first experience with Pursuit boats and I chose this one because of its size, ease of operation and the solid reputation of the company. My cruising will be done around Martha's Vineyard throughout the summer.
I'm looking forward to sharing experiences and advice with other Pursuit owners.

You have made a great choice in a quality manufacturer...I have bought two Pursuits..a C230 and now a OS315 which I keep in Vineyard Haven....Cannot say enough good about the total product and if I was to buy a new boat tomorrow it would be another OS315....tell us more as you take your first voyages Chuck

pmiller- I am just returning home from taking deliery of my new DC265. I purchased the boat in December but just took delivery of it on Thursday. I live in Colorado, but have a home in Eastern NC where I do my boating.
Let me start by saying that I was blown away by the boat- I had such a kick in the pants this weekend that it took every ounce of self control to force myself to not miss my flight and stay for another couple of days to spend on the boat. I have a family with 3 small children and we had outgrown my 18' Whaler. This is absolutely the PERFECT family boat. I spent the weekend with it without the family to familiarize myself with the boat without my wife and kids distracting me, but I am dying to get them on this thing. I was amazed at how many people stopped me wherever I docked to ask about/ comment on the boat. I even had people on the water stopping me. Amazing.

I put it through it's paces- hard charging throgh our notorious inlet, cruising, repeatedly docking, evening cruise- etc. The final test was the one I was most skeptical of- waterskiing. I was concerned about being able to ski behind a boat this size, but it was absolutely no problem and the 350 barely needed to be touched to pop someone up.

Granted, I only had a couple of days with her, but I cannot say enough. I do not think you will be dissapointed. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions.

Best of luck.

new boat coming

My boat arrived as scheduled at Bosun's Marine and I picked it up on May 30th. First, the service at Bosun's could not have been better. They picked me up at the ferry in Woods Hole and drove me first to their office to sign some paper work and then to the marina where my new 265 DC was waiting.
It was a real thrill to get on board and be taken through all the features of this great boat. The technician who installed the electronics explained all the systems and took me out on the water for my first cruise. Within an hour I was on my way across the Vineyard Sound toward my new boat's mooring in Lagoon Pond.
I was so impressed with the boat and so pleased with my purchase. I can't wait to get back to the Vineyard next month to fully enjoy the summer on the water. I wish I knew how to add a photo of Fourtunate to share with the forum.
